Quality & Compliance

Quality Begins With
Knowing What You
Are Supplying.

For a safety-related component, quality is not a badge. It is a sequence of things being known: what the item is, where it is going to be used, what condition it is in, and whether the description travelling with it is true.

This website claims no certification, approval, test result or regulatory status. There is no ISO certification, ECE approval, AIS certification, BIS certification, OEM approval, crash test, laboratory test, government approval or safety rating asserted anywhere on this site — and there is no certification section on this page, because inventing one would be worse than leaving it out.

Requirements for automotive restraint components vary by market, by vehicle and by application. If your market or your own process requires specific approvals or documentation, raise it directly at the enquiry stage. It will be answered honestly — including where the answer is that the requirement cannot be met.

The Working Standard

Seven things that
have to be true.

None of these is a certificate. All of them are checks that can actually be carried out, and that a buyer can reasonably hold a supplier to.

Identification

The component is established as what it is — type, configuration, intended seating position, whether it is a complete assembly or a part within one — before it is discussed as something that can be supplied. Where identification is not possible from the information available, that is stated rather than worked around.

Suitability

The application is understood, and the component is considered in relation to it. A restraint part has no abstract correctness; it is appropriate or inappropriate only for a particular vehicle and position. Final suitability for fitting must be confirmed by a competent person assessing the actual vehicle.

Condition

Webbing is examined for cuts, fraying, abrasion, chemical marking and heat damage. Stitching is checked for integrity. Tongue plates and receivers are checked for engagement and clean release. Retractors are checked for smooth pay-out and take-up. Mounting hardware is checked for completeness and damage.

Information

Goods are described as they are. Where a figure has not been verified against the specific product, it is not quoted. Where something is unknown, "we do not know" is given as the answer, because a confident guess about a restraint component transfers risk to the buyer without telling them.

Inspection

Checks happen before a consignment is prepared, not after a dispute. Inspection covers completeness against what was agreed as much as condition — a technically sound component that arrives without its mounting hardware has still failed the buyer.

Documentation

Paperwork matches the consignment. Descriptions, quantities and details on commercial and shipping documentation reflect what is actually in the box, prepared against what the destination and the buyer's own import process require for that specific movement.

Verification

The buyer is expected to verify independently, and is given what they need to do it. A supplier who resists scrutiny of a safety-related component is telling you something. Ask for what your process requires, and treat an evasive answer as an answer.

Buyer Verification

What you should
ask any supplier.

This applies to us as much as to anyone else you approach. These questions are cheap to ask and expensive to skip.

  • What exactly is this component? Ask for it to be described by type and configuration, not by category name.
  • What is it suitable for? And on what basis is that suitability being stated.
  • What condition is it in? Ask for specifics on webbing, stitching, engagement and retractor behaviour.
  • What can you confirm, and what can't you? A supplier who confirms everything has not understood the question.
  • What documentation will accompany it? Confirmed before the requirement proceeds, not at dispatch.
  • What approvals does my market require? Then ask whether the supplier can meet them — and accept a "no" as useful.
  • Who is fitting this? Ensure a competent person will assess and fit the component for the actual vehicle.

Nothing on this website is a substitute for professional judgement. No installation guidance is provided here, and no statement on this site should be read as confirming that a component is safe or appropriate for a particular vehicle. That assessment belongs to a competent person examining the vehicle itself.

Market Variation

Requirements differ
by market, vehicle
and application.

There is no single global rule for automotive restraint components. What a market expects — in approvals, in documentation, in how a component may be supplied or fitted — is set by that market, and can differ substantially from its neighbours.

The same is true within a market. Expectations placed on a component can differ between a new installation and a replacement, between a passenger car and a commercial vehicle, and between a private repair and a commercially operated fleet.

For that reason, this website deliberately does not tell you what your market requires. We do not know your jurisdiction, your vehicle or your obligations, and a general statement dressed up as guidance would be the least useful thing we could offer. Establish your own requirements through your regulator, your industry body or your professional advisers — then bring them to the enquiry, and they will be answered directly.
